The meeting of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the International Military Sports Council (CISM)
A regular meeting of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to CISM, chaired by the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to CISM, Siniša Radović, was held on Wednesday, 27 May 2020, at the Military Academy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Radović referred to the activities carried out in the first quarter of 2020, as well as the tasks that the Delegation will carry out in the second half of this year, in accordance with the prescribed measures and recommendations of the Government of the Republic of Serbia regarding the Covid-19 infectious disease.
Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Todorov briefed the members of the Delegation on the activities carried out in the previous period (CISM Winter Training Camp - Kopaonik and Athletic Training Camp in Ajševica - Slovenia) and activities that were postponed or cancelled, i.e. which will be held until the end of 2020 (11th CISM Summer Training Camp with 10th Mountain Running Challenge Cup - Kopaonik 2020, from 20 July to 10 August; 12th CISM Futsal Cup for Peace in Sarajevo – Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first week of October; 52nd World Military Orienteering Championship in Eison - Switzerland, 21-27 September; 51st World Military Marathon Championship in Athens - Greece, November; and 40th World Military Judo Championships in Paris - France, 10-16 December).
It was said at the meeting that a scientific-professional forum will be organized in the conference room of the Athletic Hall in the first half of June 2020, the registration procedure of military sports associations will continue and preparations for the registration of the Serbian Military Sports Association will begin. The issue of updating the Statute of the Delegation and Minister’s Decision on the composition of the Delegation was raised and it was suggested that a draft be made and submitted by e-mail to the members of the Delegation for consideration, so that the changes could be discussed at the next meeting.
During the meeting, it was proposed that the surrounding countries be asked to accept participation in the 10th Mountain Running Challenge Cup - Kopaonik 2020, as well as to update the basic documents of the Delegation (statute, decision, etc). It was also emphasized that there is a need to further regulate the conditions and manner of performing sports activities for the needs of the MoD and SAF, as well as positioning sports within the functions and competencies of the MoD and SAF, i.e. in the new Law on the Serbian Armed Forces.
At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that it is necessary to amend the Delegation's Action Plan (5 activities until the end of the year), send an inquiry by e-mail to countries in the region regarding participation in the 10th Mountain Running Challenge Cup - Kopaonik 2020, and hold a meeting by the end of June with partners on the organization of the 11th Summer Training Camp on Kopaonik. It was also concluded that in the coming period it is necessary to submit the draft of the updated Statute of the Delegation and the Minister's Decision to the members of the Delegation for review and draft a text of the article in the new Law on the Serbian Armed Forces which will form the basis for regulating sports activities in the Ministry of Defence through a concrete rulebook.
The members of the Delegation who attended the meeting were: Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Todorov, Lieutenant Colonel Nenad Milosavljević, Lieutenant Colonel Damnjan Marković, Major Blagota Vuković, Sergeant Major Igor Vuković and civilian employee Snežana Stančetić.
